Workshops for Adults

Workshops for adult family members and adults who work with youth are offered as modules in a series or as stand-alone events and are tailored to the specialized needs of each group of participants.  Workshops are always inclusive of ALL families -- traditional, blended/step, LGBTQ+, and foster families, single parents, guardians, and extended family members -- and are structured to include:
  • Knowledge Sharing, so that adults have the essential information they need to communicate confidently with children and teens
  • Interactive Discussions, which allow families and professionals who work with youth to learn from one another and to practice communication skills in a supportive setting
  • Activities that Invite Personal Exploration, so that adults develop greater clarity about their own unique values and needs
  • Resources for further learning

Educational Programs
for Youth

Educational programs for youth aim to provide:
  • Knowledge Sharing, to offer young people complete and accurate information about our bodies and an understanding of behaviors that can either harm or protect a person's health.
  • Values Clarification, to explore how feelings, relationships, and sexuality can be a healthy part of life at every stage of development, from early childhood through young adulthood.
  • Skill Building, including decision-making and communication skills that help young people navigate their needs and limits in relationships, as well as fostering the tools and the confidence to say "NO" to unwanted touch & unsafe sexual experiences.
  • Identity Development, to encourage positive experiences and self-image with respect to their bodies, gender, sexuality, and personal relationships throughout life.
